What is Carolina Kick-Off?

We combine two of Gamecock Nation's favorite pastimes: food and football. Football is the main entertainment as fans watch the Gamecock's via big screen TVs in The Zone at Williams-Brice Stadium as they travel to Gainesville to take on the Gators. Participants enjoy an indoor tailgate feast of delicious food from some of the area's favorite restaurants as well as complimentary beer and wine. Other activities include a large silent and live auction, a fun-filled photobooth, cornhole and other tailgate games. All proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

This year, we are celebrating our 8th year of the event. Since 2009, we have raised more than 350,000 to help support vital CF programs. The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment, and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care.

Important Note on Attendance at Foundation Events: To reduce the risk of getting and spreading germs at CF Foundation-sponsored events, we ask that everyone follow basic best practices by regularly cleaning your hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel, covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your inner elbow and maintaining a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection. Medical evidence shows that germs may spread among people with CF through direct and indirect contact as well as through droplets that travel short distances when a person coughs or sneezes. These germs can lead to worsening symptoms and speed decline in lung function. To further help reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation's attendance policy recommends inviting only one person with CF to attend the indoor portion of a Foundation-sponsored event at a specific time. For the outdoor portion, the Foundation recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times.

Please note: People with CF and their families should be aware that individuals with CF might choose to attend Foundation events or meetings without notifying event organizers. We strongly discourage this; however, we cannot guarantee that only one person with CF will be present at any indoor Foundation event. For more information, please call your local chapter.
